ABOUT THE OWNER

BIO

Hello, and welcome to JLPS.

I am the founder of JLPS (Japanese Language & Purchasing Services). I grew up in the Greater Tokyo Area and spent many years studying and working in Japan before gaining professional experience in several countries and eventually moving to Cyprus.

Having lived overseas for many years, I have often met people who are interested in Japan but find it difficult to access authentic Japanese products or communicate directly with Japanese suppliers.

JLPS was created to help bridge that gap.

Japan has a long history of craftsmanship, where artisans’ skills have been respected and passed down through generations. Through JLPS, I hope to help people discover traditional crafts, specialty products, professional tools, and regional treasures that reflect Japan’s commitment to quality, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.

 

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

I have worked as a business translator and localisation specialist for more than ten years, supporting communication between Japanese and international companies.

My experience includes business, legal documentation, manufacturing, dentistry, life insurance, supplier communication, product sourcing, and international business coordination.

 

EDUCATION

I hold an MSc in the Psychology of Language and Communication from the United Kingdom and an LL.M in International Business Law from Cyprus / the United Kingdom.

 

BEYOND BUSINESS

In addition to product sourcing, I enjoy travelling throughout Japan and sharing stories about its culture, traditions, crafts, and regional communities through the JLPS blog and social media
channels.
