OpenAI launched a new office in Tokyo

Microsoft-backed OpenAI opened an office in Tokyo on 15th April, the first office in Asia. This is the fourth office for the company after office in San Francisco, London, and Dublin.

OpenAI Japan will promote sales and develop partnership with private companies in Japan. The company provides GPT-4 custom model specifically optimized for the Japanese language for companies in Japan. Its clients in Japan include Daikin, Rakuten and TOYOTA Connected.   

Microsoft will invest $2.9 billion in data centres in Japan over two years for AI/cloud infrastructure, aiming to strengthen Japan’s cybersecurity resilience, in cooperation with the Japanese government.
